Poor w-fi signal
I have had sky broadband for 4 days now and cannot get a signal upstairs even though sky have changed my package to wifi max. I am also not able to watch Sky stream as it keeps freezing or the puck just shuts down. The puck is in the next room to the hub.
I have spoken to the engineers and they are sending a new puck but as the wi-fi signal is poor I doubt this will work.
Has anyone else experienced these problems?

Re: Poor w-fi signal
@MarieHa it is quite a common issue as WiFi signal levels are affected by the layout and type of construction of your home. A puck buffering in the next room either means your home has solid internal walls or something like a radiator is blocking the signal. To give your new hub the best chance make sure it is on a surface above things like radiators.
The pod booster needs careful placement as it needs a good connection to the hub so pehaps placing in a hall might work. However there are homes particularly older properties that are effdctively impossible to network. If you continue to experience issues they will send out an engineer who will be able to advise.

Re: Poor w-fi signal
Thanks Chrisee. My hub is installed on a shelf and the engineer said this was a good position.
While i had some issues with my previous supplier, they provided 2 pods free of charge and this worked well. Im also not sure if the boosters are going to arrive as they are not listed on my order.
Do you know how I get an engineer to come out as Im currently paying for a service that im not getting.

Re: Poor w-fi signal
@MarieHa if you are paying for WiFi Max Sky should send an engineer out if a single puck is not giving the speed.if you call them Sky only provides boosters if you buy the add-on which is pretty normal with most isps these days.
