Poor WiFi signal around the house

I recently had fibre fitted in my house and whilst it's definitely faster in the room the router is in, it's considerably slower than my regular WiFi in other rooms. It barely works two rooms away and definitely doesn't downstairs. 
I feel like I've gotten a bad deal, as I'm paying considerably more for a service that only really works in one room.
