Poor WiFi connection in bedroom

I currently have Sky Full Fibre 500, but I am struggling to get download speeds of 5 mbps in my bedroom, which is approximately 50 feet from the router; strangely the upload speeds are over 30 mbps at the same site. 

I tend to use a wired connection to my PC, but that is also not carrying speeds of over 15 mbps.

The router is in the only place I can safely put it.

I am beginning to regret having taken on the Fibre option, because my previous hub worked better.

Any ideas?
