Poor Wi-Fi and internet
I have just switched to sky max and I'm finding that the connection to the router and internet keep dropping out and I'm unable to watch tv. I have a pod that feeds the kitchen and conservatory. I was expecting an engineer 15th Aug but was informed he had cancelled and that I couldn't get anyone until 29th August, that in itself is very poor customer service. I'm getting to the point of cancelling and going with another provider it's that poor. I'm constantly having to try and connect to the main sky Q box then to my other mini Q boxes, it really is very tiresome and infuriating.

Re: Poor Wi-Fi and internet
@Mike17866 it is annoying when an appointment gets cancelled but it does happen unfortunstely. Your issue appears related to the fact that the Sky Max hub/pods are not compatable with Sky's Q's WiFi mesh something Sky dont go out of their way to explain.
To connect a Q mini box using. WiFirequires it to be connected to the main Qbox not to your hub or pod. Given that connection uses the 5GHz band it has limited range especially if your property has solid walls.. The engineer should advise how to get the Q system working and can potentially supply a dedicated Q compatable booster to help. Essentially you will have 2 WiFi networks one from the hub and pod to connnect your non-Sky devices and the main Q box and a secoond for the Q minis. One workround is to use ethernet to connect the Q minis to ghe hub or the pod, another is to use powerline networking adapters to achieve the same connection.

Re: Poor Wi-Fi and internet
Thank you so much Chrisee, I've had this issue since introducing 5g. I informed sky before I changed over to them about the issues I have.
Unfortunately I'm unable the Ethernet the mini boxes so rely solely on Wi-Fi. I was even sat in the living room last night, where the router is and the signal kept dropping out of the main sky Q box. It's really getting me down now.
When I ordered the pod, I explained that I'd need more. Informed me I couldn't get anyone only have 1. If it's not sorted soon I'll go with another provider, I'm not paying for a service I don't receive.

Note that any other ISP will only offer limited help with WiFi issues: their contractual obligations end at the router.
Realistically Q wireless (based around a legacy Sky hardware platform from 2016) has been left behind by the acquisition of Sky Group by the Comcast Corporation and the move to the Max Hub and Glass/Stream.
