Plug Flint 2 router into sky broadband hub

Hello,

I want to route all my home network traffic via a VPN and use adfuard. This is possible suing the GL-iNet Flint 2 router.

Would it work if I plug the flint router into the Lan port of the sky router and use that as a Wireless access point and turn the WiFi off on the sky broadband hub?

Thanks 👍

@Michael+Yates you can potentially connect any router with a WAN port to the LAN connection of a Sky hub but the resulting network will have double Network Address Translation which works well for most apps but not all. You can place the Flint 2 in the Sky Hubs DMZ to avoid double firewall issues. Whether that set up interfers with the added functions you mention is something you would have to check out yourself.

Alternatively if the Flint 2 can be configured to operate in Access Point mode (ie its routing functions dissbled) then that will also work but functions like the VPN etc could well be disabled.

There is a third potential configuration which is where the Flint is connected without the Sky hub. To achieve this on a full fibre connection the unit would have to be configured to use DHCPv4 Option61 which works on all connections or DHCPv6 PD which works on most but not all exchanges. If on a copper connection the thread here might help
