Hi I have noticed the last time I had sky broadband I only had a dsl cable connected to the router and socket. However this time I notice there's a phone cable aswell. Is this necessary or can I unplug the phone cable. I ask as I have loads of dsl cable but only a couple of inches phone cable. Which prevents me putting the router in a ideal location.

I am not exactly sure what you mean.
In order for the router to connect to the internet you either need a DSL cable from your telephone socket to the router or an ethernet cable from an Openreach ONT to the router if you are on Ultrafast.
A phone cable from the router would only be required if Sky have provisioned you with Sky Talk over VOIP, in which case your telephone connects to the back of the router instead of the telephone socket.

OK by the sounds of it they have as it was connected to the router. So would it have any impact on my broadband if its unplugged. As like I told sky I won't use the land line at all as all my calls are mobile.
