Paying for 300mb sky package but sitting in my office I struggle to make calls on internet
We are paying for the 300mb level sky package, our router is in the lounge and my office is the other side of the house (normal semi-detached sized house so not exactly big).,
I use a ring central call system for work, and I am unable to make calls when on the wifi as the connection isn't stable enough and always cuts out.
The broadband/wifi tests I can run on here say 'good' however when I run a google internet speed test on my iphone when sitting in my office on the wifi, it returns 30mbps download and 14mbps upload. The google speed test says that is fast, but surely that is much slower than the 300mb I am paying for?
Any tips? Am I entitled to some sort of booster from sky in order to achieve higher speeds in the office. Thanks,

Re: Paying for 300mb sky package but sitting in my office I struggle to make calls on internet
Hello @RobertH3
This type of issue is the very reason I bit the financial bullet a few years ago and went with an Eero mesh for our bungalow, which had wifi dead spots with any router I tried.
Initially I was with Talk Talk, but moved to Sky a couple of months ago as they gave me a great deal for Fibre 150. Disabled wi-fi on my Sky Broadband Hub (and Sky Q box as I do not have multi-room) to avoid interference and hooked up my Eero router via ethernet and connected the other three Eeros dotted around the property. Sky Q box hard wired with no connection issues whatsoever.
If I end up moving from Sky at the end of the contract, the Eero Mesh system will simply need plugging in to any new router and continue to operate.
Good luck with whatever you decide to try.

Re: Paying for 300mb sky package but sitting in my office I struggle to make calls on internet
I followed @icesteelman advice and spent £500+ on my Asus mesh system.... 😱
My spouse was questioning if it was worth that EXPENDITURE? Possibly not as I could have gotten cheaper but wanted a tri band WiFi 6 system.
It delivers and I should get many years out of it regardless of ISP.
