Password on new router will not connect to internet

I have just received a new broadband hub,it will not accept the password,could it be wrong

Highly unlikely, but you could factory reset it to be sure.

Much more likely you're misreading it because Sky lacked the forethought to exclude letters that can be mistaken for numbers.

As said above make sure you are entering it correctly as it is quite easy to get a number like a 0 muddled with a letter O and also a letter l and a number 1.
