Over 90% WiFi drop off through home with new Full Fibre 500 mbps Sky broadband.
Previously we had TalkTalk 38mbps copper broadband.
We upgraded when Full Fibre was available (3rd October) for Sky broadband 500mbps with Sky tv package. Openreach/Sky installed system on 4th November and quickly identified 500 mbps at the new Sky router - near tv.
We have a large 4 bedroomed house and in the furthest bedroom (master) we frequently on our iPads get "internet not available" message and are unable to get WiFi unless we move into the hallway!! Strangely, our neighbours WiFi - across the road on TalkTalk 38mbps system is available in this room (I have helped him with internet connections in his home for smart tv, etc. hence I still have his internet password on my iPad).
I have mapped the WiFi speed through each room in my house and in the master bedroom we can only get 38mbps from the Sky router, but no connection to our iPads.
I am seriously considering ditching Sky within my 30 days!

Re: Over 90% WiFi drop off through home with new Full Fibre 500 mbps Sky broadband.
@Rayd3 almost certainly you need more than one wifi source. Poor WiFi coverage is probably the most common question we get in the forum. In many homes a single Sky hub cannot provide a usable wifi signal in every room due to the layout and type of construction of the property especially in older homes. Assuming the hub is in the best possible position which is out in the open on a surfsce then the only answer is additional wifi sources.
Your choice.is to either buy Sky's add-on WiFi Max bundle which can supply up to 3 extenders see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buy your own wifi system and use that instead of the Sky hub's WiFi.

@Rayd3 With the increase in speed now it is just showing you the lack of signal around your property, as you do not say which sky Hub you are on, white/black SkyMax/Sky Broadband Hub those are the two current ones. Link below for the hardware if you need to look see! and may help also, the ONT Fibre stick it on an outside wall, plonk the Sky Hub next to that can be a remedy for complete wireless wi-fi nightmare to begin! Your speeds recorded you are also on that hairy edge for sky saying NO you are good enough so mesh not needed!

@Rayd3 Here is the linked info below so take the time and have the read at it! We are here to advise and help when that is possible! Also little note for you having a sky Max hub without all the extra addon that you will see when you take the read, it's extra on the bill, so if you have that already then you can go at it for the First sky Max pod, but it is a call to sky, go through the hoops and jumps off the testing etc and then the decission yes you can get one, numbers 2 and 3 are a sky Engineer visit.
getting sky max and how to get the pod's

@Rayd3 As a personal note, do as most others have, get your own mesh system and connect that up, you will never look back and have way better control and options for sure! Pro's and Con's but it's cost and satisfaction the two main factor's to consider!

Re: Over 90% WiFi drop off through home with new Full Fibre 500 mbps Sky broadband.
@Rayd3 As a pure Asus user 100% i have 4 units all wifi 6 through out the home, they are expensive but as a network Engineer that is the reason why, my FF500 connection is all that goes down the pipe to the Internet, i had to add one additional wifi AP because off a stupid Android Smasung phone that JUST would not play well, never expected that, fought the sucker hard but that is what fixed it. Internal i have massive speed but that is what i need for the home nothing else.
Giving advise is just so hard, but look at Asus and the Tp-Link range, Black Friday is comming round the corner so savings can be made.
Asus is NOTHING extra ever has to be got, all in the price and that makes them just so costly, If you say what is important once you look see that is better! Here is one starter to look at, plenty reviews but not the fastest and for sure you will not out run them speed wise!
