our WiFi box has completely died. There's no lights or anything but tests say it's running normal and there's been no recent reports online of Sky being down.

If the box has died completely then it likely has a faulty power supply, and that will need a new router dispatching by Sky to replace the faulty one you have now. Contact Sky by phone to arrange a new wireless router via the 03xxx number which is on the Sky site.
