Orange light of doom

Every so often the VoIP light turns orange on our hub and takes out the internet and we have to reboot it. Does anyone know why this happens and how to stop it?

It used to do it every couple of weeks and then stopped doing it and has now started doing it again but more frequently... It's a tad annoying... It doesn't actually affect the fibre connection, just the actual internety bit from the router...

Re: Orange light of doom

Just had a sky engineer visit re same problem, which has been ongoing for 6 months with 3 changes of router and cables. He was like a breath of fresh air, immediately saying that it was nothing to do with my end but was Sky server issues regarding IPV6 licences. Apparently work is ongoing but no fix available yet. He did change my router to a different model used on Gigafast which may fix it  (fingers crossed) but not guaranteed. He said the only real solution was the Wifi max 6 router but as I have multiple mini boxes it cannot be done at the moment. Sky are testing out extending use to include mini boxes so keeping my fingers crossed for the future. Godd luck and do not be put off by advisers online trying to tell you its your end, they are basically following a script which Sky know to be a lie.

@Nigelb1972 the orange voice light is apoarently not due to a single issue but broadly is caused by issues wihin the Sky network that manage the connection. Sky do clear these faults but the kit is often st a distant point so engineers have to travel so it takes a few days.

If you have a black Sky hub you can normally clear the fault by using the disconnection button in the maintenance section of tge hub's web interface or by powering down the hub for an hour which works with any Sky hub..

@Chrisee Thanks for the reply. The glitch clears with a quick reboot and is a tad annoying but not the end of the world because the router is easy to get at.

Re: Orange light of doom

@Brommers1 thanks. I've read that it's a technical issue at Sky's end. Like I said, it's not a deal breaker as it's just a minor inconvenience. It's been ok for a couple of months and only started doing it again recently but it's only done it a couple of times over the last few weeks.
