Openreach don't have equipment.

Hoping somebody can shed some light on the below. Back in November last year I had openreach come and dig up the pavement outside my house and lay a new fibre cable under my driveway to my property

This cable has been there ever since and nobody has been out to complete the installation since by fitting the external box they promise to and then activating the fibre from inside the property. The only order updates I now seem to be receiving are that openreach don't have the equipment to connect my services when they have already laid the cable I just need someone to come out and fit the external box? Please can somebody advise. Thanks

Did they give any idea of the required equipment ?

The install does require partial direct in ground fibre cable which is the most difficult part of the install. Although stage 2 install is usually done in 2-4 weeks and from your description under ground work appears to have been completed.  Unfortunately all you can do is keep calling sky to get an update from openreach

No i don't think they know themselves to be honest. Last time I called up they put me on hold so that they could check with openreach and they got the exact same message back from them about the delay and that I'd hear back in a week and all of the order updates ever since have been just the same.

It would be unusual to run external cable without putting in a CSP (external box) at the end of it.  Is there actually a coil of cable against your wall, or an empty duct?

Is the cable laid right up to the house or does it terminate somewhere up the drive way?

Hopefully it will initiate an online community chat with sky to look into the delayed provisioning.

@TimmyBGood this seems common practice now, both in my install and my neighbours install the dig team dug up the pavement and garden (most professional on the garden as could hardly see where the cable ran) to  ran the cable to the house and then left a coil of cable so the open reach engineer/third party  could then attach the csp and the ont at the same time
