Openreach delaying activation with no reason given
Hello,
Has anyone else experienced Openreach delaying their broadband activation - but they haven't told Sky it has been delayed?
Had a text from Openreach today saying my FTTP connection will go live on September 12th, despite Sky confirming it was due to go live on August 30th.
Rang Sky who were none the wiser - and said their end still shows everything is due for August 30th. Got in touch with Openreach - who confirmed it had been delayed- but said that Sky have been told.
Due a call back tomorrow - but seems that Openreach are up to their usual tricks again.

Is the infrastructure for FTTP (optical cable, CSP, fibre pigtail and ONT) all in place?

Re: Openreach delaying activation with no reason given
Hey @TimmyBGood - it is yeah.
I've just bought the place (we exchanged two weeks ago and complete on 29th) and the current owner is with Sky and says he has notified them to transfer his connection, so I don't think it's a case of a provider holding onto the line.
BT wholesale checker also shows the active connection there - so the infrastructure is fine (I hope).
It's all just a bit odd - and I do feel for the Sky agents who are non the wiser and very apologetic.

Re: Openreach delaying activation with no reason given
"Ont exists with active service" and then "service is at capacity"
So maybe the previous owner hasn't cancelled
Do you share broadband equipment etc with other people

Re: Openreach delaying activation with no reason given
They won't have - as we don't complete until the 29th, so I wouldn't expect their service to have ceased yet. I deliberately scheduled my activation for the 30th to avoid the 'scrum' on the completion day of all the lines moving in the chain.
I'm just very confused as to why Openreach have magicked a date of September 12th out of thin air - and haven't bothered to tell Sky why.
As far as I am aware each property has its own equipment. It was installed by Openreach when they were built - all very odd.

Re: Openreach delaying activation with no reason given
As @cookiemonsteruk indicates, 'network is at capacity' is a potential complication.

Re: Openreach delaying activation with no reason given
Where would the network be at capacity. Would that just be the ont or somewhere along the way back to the exchange?
