I can't see that this has been asked recently, apologies if so.
If anyone has any advice on a) what I can do fix this or b)how I might connect directly with Sky to improve my situation, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
(and c) why the two tests are so different)
In summary:
Sky Broadband Ultrafast Plus subscription - supposed to be >400Mb/s DS speeds
Suffering slow and choppy performance when streaming and Teams/Zoom calls.
Ookla speedtest over the past week or so (tested at various times throughout the day) ranges from 35Mb/s - 90Mb/s. Never any more than this. (results pasted below)
At exactly the same time, the Sky Service checker will say it's between 450-500 Mb/s.

@JBTipper99 Are you testing solely with wireless wifi, or have you ever tested with an ethernet connection?

Find out more@JBTipper99 Your issue apears to be WiFi related as your Oookla tests show a WiFi connection, that being the case there is nothing for Sky to do to improve your situation, they only guarantee the speed to your router as WiFi is prone to interference from so many different sources.
You could try changing the wireless channel to see if it helps.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@JBTipper99 the Sky test shows the speed your hub is connected at while any speed test like Ookla records the speed at the device you are using. If the connection between the hub and your device is slowest part of the connection that is speed the test shows. Poor wifi is very frequently the issue which is why the only reliable test is one run over a Gigabit ethernet connection with only a single device using the connection.
