Omada oc200 with switch. Speed is below 100mb but 500+ on router

Hi,

I have just joined sky from virginmedia and I'm struggling to get my oc200 and tp link switch with 3 eaps to function over 100mb. I have 3 extenders, 2 outdoor and one indoor. When I connect to the sky router directly, I get speeds of 500+ mbps but when I connect to any eap I'm only getting between 40 and 70 mbps. The setup is the same as it was with the VM router, we just put the same cat6 cables into the sky router and it's just not playing game. Any ideas??

@Craig2477 Sky hubs default to Gigabit ethernet but some can be switched to Fast Ethernet ie 100Mb/s so check web interface.

Most likely issue is somewhere in your cabelled network there is a unit operating at 100Mb/s. Every port and cable must support Gigabit speeds so check the specs of the switch and if it has indicator lights check they are indicating the correct port speed. Cat 6 cables should be OK but if a single core is broken speeds can drop to 100Mb/s as Gigabit uses all 4 pairs will 100Mb/d only needs two.

Thanks for the reply @Chrisee. I have a 16 port gigabit switch, the settings on the web are correct i.e 1000mbps the only thing connected to the router that is showing 100mb is my zappi gateway. It looks like I might have to redo the plug on the cable first off and then if that doesn't work then I'll get a new cat6 cable.
