I have a Sky TV package but I left sky broadband about three years ago and went with NOW broadband which to be fair has been pretty good so far.
My problem is I recently renewed my NOW broadband contract as I'm using FTTC. But I got an email from Openreach to let me know that I could now order FTTP. I wish they had contacted me two months earlier, never mind.
Today I asked NOW broadband whether I could leave my current contract without penalty and take one of their fiber packages that's done through Sky broadband. They said it would be possible but they wanted to make me aware I would lose my telephone number. Yy telephone number is still used an elderly relative.
Apparently the systems used by NOW are incompatible with Sky broadband? odd since I thought NOW are effectively the same company as Sky using the same infrastructure.
Before I make any changes, is there any way I can keep using my existing telephone number? I've had it for well over a decade and it's been useful in an emergency, example mobile being stolen.
Some guidance wou;d be useful.

@JAD30 Sky have confirmed it should be now possible to port a Now number to a full fibre connection of "Now via Sky" I would call again and if told tge same thing say that the one touch switching should have made that possible.

@JAD30 dont worry about typos for some reason the ability to edit posts comes after you have made more posts.
I have heard of this issue before suposedly because Sky and Now use different sales systems which make transfers quite complex. They are same company but as the systems dont talk to each other wierdly it is easier to transfer between Sky and EE or any other Openreach ISP than Now to Sky.
There is light at the end of the tunnelshen the very new One Touch Switching system is in place it may become possible you may want to try again in a months time when the new system is fully in place. I will seecwhat I can find out for you.

Re: Old telephone number FTTP
I find it strange that it's so complex to move a number, hopefully the One Touch Switching system will be the answer i look forward to seeing what you can find out.
