ONT - flashing lights and high pitched screech.

• This afternoon on two occasions 30 minutes apart the ONT flashed several times and there was a screech for a few minutes(no red light).
• We cannot be certain where the screech came from.
• This was during mobile phone calls on both occasions and the phone rebooted (so maybe the culprit) nothing since.
• The router appears not to have been affected.
• Sky Network Team are monitoring for 24 hours.
• Does anyone have any ideas or had similar experiences?

There's no speaker in there, so whatever was making that noise, it probably shouldn't have been...

I would have thought the most likely candidate is an analogue phone handset.

I would have thought the most likely candidate is the phone.

• As I said the phone maybe as the connection died?
• My wife was using the phone and cannot be sure of the chain of events.

Yes: presumably the built-in ATA is capable of doing nasty things to an attached handset given that it's feeding the phone with the same current as the telephone exchange would have done.
