Now cancelled broadband before sky out in fibre
Contract with Now broadband finished was transferred over to sky arranged engineer to come yesterday to fit fibre. However fibre needs open reach with hoist and road will affect traffic so need planning. Now have disconnected internet and won't reconnect as they say sky cancelled. Sky said now shouldn't have cancelled until they took over the line. Currently have no internet husband works from home and we have an EV we can't charge. Now aren't taking any new contracts so can't a rolling contact until fibre fitted. What are we supposed to do in meantime???

Re: Now cancelled broadband before sky out in fibre
Just a suggestion, don't know if it helps, but I keep a Mercursys MB230-4G router (£55) with a 120GB valid for 12 months SIM from EE (£49) as a standby. 120GB is a months usage to me.
Of course, you’d need a decent 4G signal from a close EE tower but it works well for me. The router will potentially give 300Mb/s down with a decent signal. I get more like 70Mb/s but that matches my FTTC connection. The SIMS are available for other mobile providers too, of course.

Re: Now cancelled broadband before sky out in fibre
Hi @Piper3
Its unfortunate that Now/Sky have done this usually a Full Fibre install keeps the old line activate until the FF line has been activated so I am not sure what has gone wrong in your case.
The permission for Openreach to do street work can sometimes take a long time so I would recommend you look at getting some sort of mobile broadband solution in the meantime.

Re: Now cancelled broadband before sky out in fibre
In hindsight should have made it clear to NOW myself instead of leaving it to sky, for them not to disconnect... NOW moving away from broadband going forward ...ie no new contracts so they won't reconnect !!!
