Not getting internet throughout the house no more

Had ultrafast broadband put in on Monday 12/05/25 and the modem was moved to a different area I asked if we would still get internet throughout the house and was told yes but we do not there is now a room that gets no WiFi at all.

@RedNed92

Unfortunately this can happen during FTTP installs. Best thing you can do is contact Sky and ask for a booster pod.

You could also look at relocating your router with a long ethernet cable from the ONT on the wall.

Thanks for your reply, phoned and asked about this and they said nothing they can do for the hub we have would have to upgrade to the new hub at extra cost to use for us to even get a booster.

@RedNed92 Next choice is to move the hub back to where it was and working before your upgrade, the difficult part is how easy it is to move, the Ethenet cable that you need to get length of same and connect up as you have now removing that short 1M length supplied cable.

That's the thing where the new one is to where the old one is there's no way of moving it back to that spot, I just feel like the guy didn't want to put it where we had it before as he felt like it was too much work but we'd removed everything for them to just come and put it in.

Re: Not getting internet throughout the house no more

@RedNed92 The main issue is the delicate Fibre from the outside to the inside, and the Engineers know how problematic it is to run the cable that way, on the outside wall it goes, and you are now responsible to get it to where is best, or throw boosters at it, no matter what the BEST option is to move the hub 100% especially if it was all working A OK before.

Boosters although people love to think, can be a complete pain in the !"£$.... to get working, and then any oops is all just !"£$...
