No router delivered on activation day

Switched to sky 8 days ago today is activation day still no router nothing to track . Been told I will need to await activation text the contact sky again whom will then arrange a replacement router. In the meantime will be left with no broadband at all. Not even a broadband customer yet but already having doubts about switching

@Doodles20 normally modt people switching broadband keep their old connection until the Sky one is established as delays are not thst rare its part of the One Touch Switch system. The old cconnection is inly disconnected when Sky tell the old provider.

 

That the hub has not arrived could be because the go live date has changed. This is down to Openreach or City. Fibre changing the order to allow the necessary work to be done. Wherecdelays happen one of tge first things customers notice is the hub has not been dispatched check the My Ordersxsection of tge My Sky app as that should show what is 

 

If your line is due to go live today and hits a snag Sky will only know it has not happened tomorrow when the network operator has reported. If the line does go live and the. Hub has been delayed Sky can only sort a replacement after the activation date.

Thank you that was much more a better reply and explanation than what sky gave. Told me my old broadband would be getting cut off today, so best they could offer was to use hotspot WiFi until my router would arrive which would with in 3 to 5 days after activation text

@Doodles20 the old service should stay up unless you have cancelled it yourself or an engineer messes up so 🤞

Awesome 👌 thanks for your advice it's appreciated . 🤞 my broadband remains as I've not cancelled it just done a switch with sky
