No internet protection

We had our broadband installed on Monday (so on day 5), and I can't get access to Sky Shield or my other internet security. I have set up the 'parental controls' but it doesn't do anything and absolutely NOTHING is being filtered out.

the support pages are just taking me round in circles and it's infuriating!
I have a house full of kids and teenagers, I need internet security!

@MotherOfDragons

Sky Broadband does not offer much on those lines apart from the rather crude filtering of Sky Shield, plus a basic firewall on the Hub.  Which 'other internet security' are you referring to?

Re: No internet protection

I don't even have sky shield. It does not work, and I just get error messages when I try to open it in the app and on the website.
when I was trying to find out how to set up sky shield, I was pointed to an article about mcafee being included with Sky broadband. But I haven't been given any information about that.

long story short, the only restriction that I can put on my broadband currently is downtime routines. So everyone in my house can gamble and watch porn to their hearts content as long as it's before 10pm when I have set their devices to disconnect. I NEED the age restrictions. Apparently sky shield defaults to 'teen' on installation, but that is not the case here as there are no restriction at all .

This would be because that marketing promotion ceased several years ago

For Shield problems you'll need to contact Sky directly.  Are you using the supplied Sky Hub?
