No Internet sky have ran out of ideas

Hoping someone may have an idea of what I can try.

Been without Internet for around 10 days now. If I run a speed test i can so times get 20mb for a split second before dropping down to 0 over a about 5 seconds. Sometimes it's a few mb's but quickly drops to 0. 99% of the time it's 0-0.5

So sky have said the line is OK and they are sending 26mb. They have sent openrach out who have said their line is fine and they have ran all voltage, resistance and speed tests with no issues. I've tried 3 routers and sky have just sent me a brand new router and I get the same problem with all. This is the same whether WiFi or ethernet direct. Sky don't know what to do next apart from tell me to upgrade to fibre which is great but I don't want to wait a month. We work from home and are attempting to tether off phones which isn't working out great. Sky have been awful so far and I'm having to chase daily but I just get passed around and the phone put down as nobody knows what to do. I raised a complaint and I've not heard anything for 5 days. Can anyone think of anything I can try?

Thanks in advance

You would be better to say exactly how you are connected to the line, OR master socket etc, and also if you have any sky Hub that may not be the sky max then post up your hub stat's from the link below, and as you see it same as the linked post!, just allow a minute for the fields to fill in!

How to read your Sky Hub statistics

Re: No Internet sky have ran out of ideas

If you have the option of fibre then the sooner you order the sooner it will arrive. It is more resilient than the old ADSL system, which is slowly being replaced with fibre.

If you are working from home and it is essential to have a working broadband then consider a business install as this has 4G backup. No domestic ISP offers a 100% availability service.

While you wait, you could also go to Currys and purchase a Starlink mini, (£159.00) which is a monthly rolling contract. Getting online is simply plug it in and point it at the sky. Not cheap, but it's always available as a backup. You do have to be able to position it with a good view of the sky or be able to mount it at roof level. A possible backup solution.

They also offer a zero cost external option at the moment but the equipment must be returned upon ending the contract.

I remember the Internet starting!

Re: No Internet sky have ran out of ideas

Hi, I have the sky hub 4.2 connected to the openreach master socket pre filtered. There have been no changes there. I've tried 3 sky routers and all give the same fault no Internet at all or around 0.5mb-1mb average. All lights are green on the router even when the Internet completely drops off. I'm connecting via ether net to laptop and desktop and also WiFi and all give the same problem. I'll try post up the hub/router stats now. Thanks in advance for your help

Will take a look when the pictures get cleared for viewing, they have to be checked before they are released so it's not an instant for anyone else to see them. Has your OR Master socket been swapped out at all during the multiple sky Hub supplies to you?

Re: No Internet sky have ran out of ideas

Nothing much wrong with your stat's and showing you currently have a larger up/down than you are posting!

Do a speed test and at the same time watch that screen and see what the wan part is doing out to the Internet, you 5Ghz band is busy but hard to say what you are actually doing.

Re: No Internet sky have ran out of ideas

Thanks for the reply, I will do that in the morning.

Just to add that my upload has always been around 5mb and it still is. Nothing has changed with upload speed and even when I get 0 - 0.5 download the upload still reads 5mb and stable
