New to sky & just been sold a new booster that doesn’t help at all

Only had sky installed around 2 mths ago. No signal in one of the downstairs rooms. Phoned sky, & was sold a new booster pod, and increased my monthly on a new contract. POD doesn't help at all. It's connected to router. I'm now  stuck with an inferior product and under contract. I work from home and absolutely need wifi. What can I do? I wish I had stayed with BT. I had no problems and no booster 🙈

@FirBrook

In what way doesnt it work? Where have you placed the booster in relation to your hub & the room that doesnt have signal?

Thanks for your response. I firstly  positioned the pod near the router to ensure it connected, then relocated it 7 metres away from the router, closer to the room where I receive no signal. I checked in the app that the pod was connected. Checked x3 seperate devices in problem room but the signal is 1 bar & insufficient to run anything- (laptop/alexa/phone)  Router works ok upstairs etc.

@FirBrook

Has it improved the signal at all? As in no signal to maybe 1 bar? WHat if you move it closer to the room in question?

@FirBrook Where is the main sky hub placed, and is it up off the floor?

Hi, I've had it on small table in the hall, but have tried it higher on the stairs and even on the floor- no difference unfortunately

@FirBrook Just asking, central location and ideally 3-4' from the floor gives a good surrunding wireless signal, i am the opposite, top off stairway is the central point,  next central is the hallway and that is where the booster is, two devices, nearly covers the whole home...

I'll keep on experimenting with the locations of both router & pod. There must be a solution somewhere!

@FirBrook That is about all you can do, i have no experience with the SR213 and there pod's using the SR203 and SE210 combination currently but they are temp until satisfied all is good and then they go back in the box, Quick check shows hub is up 1,355.39:00 hours + couple of extra day's and 98% no problems, few little niggles wireless wise, sorted that out with putting my old SE back on for the wife, not 100% convinced that my SR was brand new, but it is what it is.

Service wise no complaints from me, sky cust 20 yrs, apart from 1 year EE/BT but enough said about that debacle.. New cust as far as sky is concerned but i know different.

@FirBrook You may find the following below help full but every home and person is different so its a little give/take.

Place your router in a central, unobstructed location to ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout your home.

Aim for the center of the most important area of your home.

If you have a home with multiple floors, consider which floors you frequent the most.

Keep your router in an open space away from concrete/brick walls, electronics, water and microwaves.

Raise your router up to allow the signals to transmit to every area of your home.
