Just got SKY 500mb/s and I am impressed with speed but my problem is this.
I can't get my plugs which used to work with Alexa on BT broadband. I read that they work on 2.4GHz and not 5.0GHz, so if I switch 5.0GHz off and hopefully reconnect the plugs will I then be able to switch 5.0GHz back on and they should work? I hasten to add I am worried about playing with settings.
any advice would be great. T.I.A.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Davefc1 you have described the process for connecting devices that cannot be connected to the default dualband SSID modern routers like the white Sky Max hub very well.
It is pretty simple using the My Sky app on the device you are going to use to run the Amazon app navigate to the Sky Max hub settings which should be in the Broadband/Product Options section. Click on the Advanced Settings and then the slightly scary Disable WiFi button which opens a new screen which flashes upma couple of warnings which you dismiss you will see the screen below simple switch the 5GHz band off and exit the page.
Now connect the Alexa devices using the app once connected and you have tested them go back into the Disable WiFi pagecand turn the 5GHz band back on and the devices shouldcstill work.
Using the app is pretty safe but in the incredibly unlikely event you get stuck you can reset your hub by pressing and holding in the WPS button on the right side until the led flashes green and release. The hub will reboot and be back to its factory settings.
