Re: New sky hub wifi worse
@lis78 there sre sigbificant differences between the old black hubs and the white variety which can affect WiFi performance. To understand your issue can you post whether the hub is in the same position as the old one and whether you have Sky Q tv boxes?
If you want to talk to Sky directly you will need to call them the forum is a customer-to-customer channel.

Unfortunately with the move to a Max Hub you'll no longer have the Q television box acting as a wireless hotspot.

Re: New sky hub wifi worse
@lis78 one possible explanation is that as the Sky Q box cannot work as a wifi extender with the white Sky Max hub as it did with the bkack hub. Therefore devices that are nearer the Q box are now having to connect to the hub. If you bought the WiFi Max bundle from Sky give them a call to get a pod extender sent out.

Re: New sky hub wifi worse
Another option, which will have to be funded out of your own pocket, is to go down the route of installing your own mesh system.
It does not need to be overly expensive, and can be reliable e.g. my first mesh setup was a Tenda MX3 mesh. I turned the wifi OFF on the hub/router, connected the first Tenda node via ethernet cable to the hub/router, and set the Tenda into bridge mode/ or AP mode. Then used other nodes around the house.
It worked great on my 80/20 speed connection with strong wifi signals in every room of my 3 storey house.
I have upgraded since then and now use Asus XT9s which are not cheap.
Now TV Sports Ultra Boost @ £26 pm (till Feb 2026)
1000/115 FTTP (Aquiss) to Zyxel DX3301
3 x Asus XT9s + 2 x RT-AC58U V3 for WiFi (AP mode)
65" Samsung S92C OLED TV
C430 Samsung soundbar with subwoofer
6 other streaming TVs
43+ network connected devices
