New max hub and no wifi

We upgraded our sky broadband to the new max hub in November.  Had a few teething problem but gradually became worse as the hub's WiFi began to drop but only affecting the Sky Q box. WiFi was okay for everything else. Then it became difficult to reconnect the hub and Q, the Q box stopped recognising the Hub as a sky hub. This then involved constantly putting in our password to reconnect. Phoned sky, was told it was a WiFi problem and that they would book an engineer ..... even though everything that needed to be connected via WiFi was. Woke up Saturday to the hub on and no WiFi at all. Reset everything and for almost 4 days it was perfect, that is until last night when the WiFi dropped again. This has been a running theme today, to the point where the I can't get the hub and Q box to reconnect at all.
I think I've read somewhere that the new max hub is not compatible with the sky q box.. Is this right because it would explain a lot

The Max Hub is 'compatible' with a main Q box in the way any other ISP router is.  What it doesn't have is the Q mesh support which was incorporated in the previous Sky Broadband Hub and Q Hub models.

Sky Glass 55" (on ethernet) & two Stream Pucks (one ethernet / one WiFi)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2
