New fibre but left with old copper wire
Openreach/Sky installationt went ok apart from home phone line ? Another story. In my garea copper broadband is no longer available, to buy, which begs the question why leave the copper line from the same pole in place ?
apparently the exchange stops copper ing Jan 2025. Openreach leave in case I sell the house ?
But fibre is the only broadband available anyway ? Is it me?

Re: New fibre but left with old copper wire
@Ian2240 as yet Openreach have no programme to remove redundant copper cables when they install full fibre unless they need to use the same path like an overhead drop cable or a duct under ground. My own copper line is still there and I suspect will remain even after they decommission the cabinets etc as the value of the copper is less than the cost of removing a directly buried cable.
