@GRABAR   Please can you post your router stats so the forum can advise on any issues. This link explains how to do that https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/How-to-find-your-Sky-Broadband-router-stats/td-p/2855717#

Such a speed drop over WiFi is entirely plausible depending on the client device, distance and local wireless congestion.

All domestic WiFi drops to zero Mbs over a few tens of metres or through a few walls no matter how fast the internet connection is to the router.

I was previously getting 69-72Mb pretty much consistantly, initially today after installation it was @430Mb but now its between 80-215Mb It's nothing to do with the environment as the router is in exactly the same position as it was before

WiFi is inherently inconsistent and fundamentally unreliable which is why ethernet cable is still a thing.

One question would be if any individual wireless devices actually need that kind of broadband speed: Ultrafast is mostly intended to provide 'enough' bandwidth for multiple concurrent uses, and typically peak speed can only be delivered over cable.

Thanks for the response

I understand that I won't get the same speed on WiFi as cable, but when I was on 63Mb broadband I constantly got 60-70Mb pretty much anywhere in the house.

Now with 500Mb full fibre I am struggling to get above 100Mb and often 80Mb

download even next to the router.

Upload fairs better as previously this was always in the region of 18Mb anywhere in the house and now this is pretty constant at 71.3Mb which is what I would expect

I'm bemused that with Fibre 500Mb 8×speed I was connected to on Thursday, I am struggling to see even twice the speed on WiFi
