New broadband router not connecting

Hi, Just moved to sky. Received my router and a message from openreach engineer saying he had done whatever he needed to do. Connected the router to the incoming main phone socket but continuously seeing the red light on the router even after resetting several times. My phone is also showing please check line cord and I see the same message and no dial tone if I connect the phone directly to the socket. Previous provider was OGI who ran their own fibre cable and equipment to the property similar to virgin.

Hi @Algy1

Are you using the master telephone socket? OGI & Virgin run their own infrastructure and would have been using direct fibre cabling whereas it sounds like you've now moved to an Openreach based ISP that is still using copper from the cabinet.

Re: New broadband router not connecting

Hi James thanks for the reply. Yes now connected to the phone socket. Spoke to broadband helpline who said it had not been boarded yet? Waiting to hear from them but it's been 24hrs since speaking to them and they said it would be working by now. White light on front of router is just pulsing.

Thanks
