New Wifi max router not connecting to booster or sky Q mini box

I was having speed issues with the old router so Sky have sent me a new Wifi Max router. this has sorted the speed issues - im now getting around 900 meg. 

However...My Q Mini box upstairs will not connect to it at all.

Ive changed the SSID to match to old box as we have many many devices in the house that i didnt want to have to reconfigure.

Everything else works. Xbox's Laptop's Phone's Sonos Alexa's.

however i cant get the booster at the top of the stairs or the Mini box to connect to the new router. 

Ive reset the mini box multimple times and similarly with the booster. Ive even tried to manually configure the mini box to connect to the SSID by manually selecting a different router manufacturer in the settings. It connects, Negociates then the picture shows for a few seconds then defaults back to saying there is a connection issue. The booster box ive reset and rescanned the WPS to the new router multiple times as well i get 3 green lights for a few seconds then the middle light goes off.

Ive booked an engineeer but they cant come till thursday. Any other ideas?

If i setup the original router on a different IP address then the minibox comes on. However in that setup im getting random wifi drops on other devices as you cant manually configure the router as an access point.

Ok update. 

the reason that I couldn't connect the Q box or the booster to the new sky max router is due to hardware compatibility. 

the q boxes don't support the modern WiFi authentication standards that the MAX box uses. Same story for the booster. I now need a new type of booster that they are posting out. 

the Q box is actually a pain. To get it to work upstairs on WiFi I had to enable WiFi on the Q box downstairs that is on the Ethernet. This means I now have a mash up of conflicting WiFi standards. So it's pot luck if I get WiFi from the max router or the Q box. If it connects to the Q box I can only get 200 meg speed. This is crap. There is no fix for this. 

what I'm going to have to do now is ran an Ethernet cat 6 cable to the Q box upstairs then disable the WiFi in the Q boxes altogether.
