New Sky Max Hub not working with some equipment

I am not sure if these problems are particular to me/my system, but yesterday I updated my sky broadband box to the latest Sky Max hub and booster... It doesn't work with some of my equipment, specifically my solar system. After spoeaking with the solar system people, it was suggested the WPA3 was the issue.
When I finally got into the detail of the new hub, it is set to WPA3 security and the option to change and many other options are greyed out in the admin settings of the new hub.
Also, the 5Ghz wifi system is given the same name as the 2.4Ghz wifi and this is also greyed out.
I spoke to sky, and eventually got the WPA3 changed to WPA2, but then the 5ghz naming wasn't changeable. Sky did their usual and just threw their arms up and said that there was nothing else they could do.
Despite the various setting changes, the solar system failed to connect up, so i finally abandoned the sky max hub and reverted to my old one.
The new sky hub has so many greyed out options, it is not very user friendly compared to the older hub.

It's not possible to permanently unsynchronize the frequency bands and give them different names on the Max Hub.

Yes, i have come to that conclusion, unlike the older hub which gives you the option to syncronise or not.

Worth noting that the Max Hub isn't an iteration of previous Sky router hardware: it's a whole new hardware/software stack built to the WiFi 6 specification with app administration.

Apparently the new EE Smart Hub Plus has also lost the ability to unsynchronize and rename bands found in previous BT/EE models.

Some forum posters have reported deployment of a wireless extender over ethernet cable as a workaround.
