Need to unlock ports to allow my EV charger to connect
Hi all
I had an ICS ICSH7DW EV charger fitted today, but the installer was unable to connect it to my broadband as ports 9103 and 9133 needed to be unblocked. Called Sky and spent a few hours on the phone logged onto my hub but they were unable to resolve the issue.
Connected the charger to my next door neighbour's router (Talk Talk) via an ethernet cable, and it worked just fine, so it seems the charger is fine.
Any ideas?
Many thanks
Simon

Re: Need to unlock ports to allow my EV charger to connect
@Simon1268 is the charger accessible on your home network? If it isn't then it is unlikely to be an issue with firewall ports. One recurring issue with the new white Sky Max hubs is that some devices cannot connect using its default wifi security setting. If the issue thst the charger wont connect to the hub's wifi go into the My Sky app and find the Hub's settings and go to advanced settings wifi security and change the setting from wpa3-t to wpa2 to see if thst causes the hub to connect. This does not apply to the older black Sky hubs.
If however the charger is connecting locally you may have to open and forward those ports but it is a pretty unusual requirement not mentioned in the ICS documentation the method varies according to hub model on the white hubs it is done In the same area of the My Sky app just follow the instructions but for the black hubs see here

Re: Need to unlock ports to allow my EV charger to connect
@Chrisee thanks for your reply - the charger isn't visible on the network. I have the black hub and I'd already found and followed the instructions in the link you kindly included, but it hasn't made any difference, the ports are still blocked

Re: Need to unlock ports to allow my EV charger to connect
@Simon1268 looking here https://docs.tapelectric.app/docs/ics-onboarding-guide there are several steps to connect the charger to your home network. Did the installer ask for your WiFi password? If they didn't the unit is not networked.
