Need to extend my wifi range - gigafast
Just upgraded to 900mbs gigafast, and want to extend the range of the wifi signal, as in the further reaches of our house we have no signal. Currently have the SR203 router which seems to have a really weak signal. Can't move the router from its current spot, so I'm looking at extenders or mesh systems - I think!? Not the most tech savvy when it comes to these things.
Speedwise I am currently getting max speed with ethernet to router and about 300-500mbs when on wifi when close to the router. I do not have Sky Q just an old sky + box and I do not use talk. I'd say my priority is getting more range and then secondary to that a slight speed boost on wifi would be great but not crucial, as for anything I need full speed for I use ethernet. So what are my best options?

Re: Need to extend my wifi range - gigafast
@1grumpee my own solution to a similar issue was to buy a three unit whole home wifi set up and to use that in access point mode to give decent coverage in every room in a three level home roughly 200Mbs at the most distant. The Sky hub's wifi can be turned off. This is simpler.than replacing the. Sky hub totally and leaves the landline intact. Most such systems use an app for set-up so dont require much techbical knowledge .
To get the full 900Mb/s you need at least a WiFi 6 system, mine is WiFi5 as is your SR203 hence the limited top speed. However as you sensibly point out you dont need that bandwidth on devices connected by WiFi as most apps cant use 100Mb/s let alone need 900Mb/s. WiFi5 kit is cheaper my set up can be picked up for around £100.
You could alternstively pay Sky for their WiFi Max package which can get you up to 3 pod extenders and a faster hub see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max
Hope that helps
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode
