Re: NOW Broadband FTTC (powered by Sky)

@JimM1  Yes buddy.

Just to confirm. TP-link have confirmed it's a problem with the firmware setup and have passed it on to the senior engineers for investigation. Hopefully an update will come soon, but at the moment. Myself and several others on the tp-link community are awaiting this to be rectified.

I have since tried the AC2100 (VR2100) using the details provided and it worked perfectly with the details above and has the option to add the login details, where the AX1800v doesn't.

Thanks for your help and patience 👍

@RedWall58 By the end of all this, you will be the TP-Link person to got, prep your post for getting this router up and running. Same with all FW, engineers like to tinker, had you gone Asus you would not have had any issues, Hang in there.... Jim

Re: NOW Broadband FTTC (powered by Sky)

@JimM1 - asked for a timescale on when the firmware will be fixed.

recieved this earlier today, when it's up and running, I will edit the post to help others 👍

"Thank you for your inquiry. After consulting with our senior engineer, we have confirmed that the beta firmware is expected to be available within 1-2 weeks.

We are committed to providing the firmware as soon as possible and will make every effort to meet this timeline."

Re: NOW Broadband FTTC (powered by Sky)

***SOLUTION***

When connecting the Archer VX1800v to Sky Broadband (UK) or NowTV MER line and configuring it through the web interface, the "Sky(MER)_VDSL" option is missing from the Quick Setup ISP list. If you select "Other" and configure it, it does not work.

When configuring it through the Tether App, the "Sky(MER)_VDSL" option is available, but there is no option to add a username and password, resulting in no connection.

Workaround:

If you are experiencing the same issue, please try installing the beta firmware below for the Archer VX1800v.

You can download the firmware from the following link: Archer VX1800v_V1_240326

Note: Please be sure you have read the Terms and Conditions for TP-Link Beta Firmware before proceeding.

After installing the firmware, please configure the router using the web interface. Select the ISP "Sky (MER)_VDSL" option and proceed with the setup.

Please note that the current beta firmware does not support Sky MER configuration through the Tether App.

@RedWall58 Are you fully up and running now with the TP-Link router?

Re: NOW Broadband FTTC (powered by Sky)

@Nashmills everything you need to know should be on this thread. I would suggest setting the router up using a laptop and Ethernet connection. Doing it through the app for this setup can cause a few issues.

Re: NOW Broadband FTTC (powered by Sky)

Thanks for your replies regarding the VX1800v. As it appears you've tried this and the VR2100, could you recommend one over the other as I haven't made a purchase yet?

Re: NOW Broadband FTTC (powered by Sky)

Vx1800 is more up to date and currently on offer for £75 on Amazon.

It more of a personal choice really, but at that price, I'd be tempted to go for it.

I sent the other model back because I didn't need it once the firmware was updated on Vx1800.

Hope this helps 🙂
