NEW CONTRACT & MOVING HOME TO NEW BUILD

I'm due to start a new contract with Sky on 15th April; that is not a problem. However my house has just been sold and we are due to move out on 1st August but our new property, a new build,  will not be available for occupation until early November. Thereby lies the problem. The developer has selected OFNL as the provider of full fibre broadband, I have checked OFNL's website and Sky does not appear to be an Internet Provider in the area I am moving to.

Can I therefore continue with my current contract and cancel this with Sky at the end of July? Contrary what is stated on OFNL's website can I continue with Sky?

@64GWE  Sky use the Openreach network so no, you won't be able to use Sky through OFNL, what their websote has told you is correct.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@64GWE

As @GD1 indicates, Sky only provides broadband over the national Openreach network (and on CityFibre optical infrastructure from later this year)

You'll find that because your developer has effectively granted exclusivity to OFNL you'll have a greatly reduced range of ISP options.

@64GWE You may want to speak to Sky and cancel the new contract, it's not right to enter in to a contract knowing you cannot fulfill the term, you may find if you do that once you move and try to cancel that Sky insist on you paying early termination fees(which would be at least 21 months of payments if you cancel in August).

@daveNOS is absolutely correct, and the early cancellation penalty due on twenty-plus months would be distinctly unpleasant.

@64GWE in your circumstances the best advice appears to be not to recontract with Sky in April as your existing contract wont stop when the fixed period expires it switches to a rolling contract with 14 day notice period.
