My work VPN hasn't stayed connected longer than few mins for last 6 months

Hello

My work VPN won't stay connected longer than a minute or so. After talking to IT (and finally relising it was only me) they said it's a sign of unstable WiFi.

I found if I connect 'on the move' like through my phone hot spot, it stays connected. I also tried it plugged into the router downstaris and the VPN stayed connected. I did try the VPN on the Wifi sat next to the router and it still dropped out.

Back upsatirs, VPN has droppped again.

What would anyone suggest?
Thank you

Also, I forgot to mention, I use SONOS products around the house and they are very tempramental when using the WiFi. On bluetooth, they're ok.
Thanks

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

@dizzyjojo  Ethernet would be the most stable way of connecting especially of your WFH, if thats not an option have a look at powerline adapters, you would need a pair, one plugs in near the hub and connects to the hub with a short ethernet cable, the 2nd one plugs in nearby your work area and connects to your laptop over ethernet.

Sounds good, thank you very much.

Laptop and desk is quite far from the hub so I think your idea may be a good one!

Thank you
