My sky router is getting very hot and emanating a smell like you get with new electrical goods it gets worse when I'm using the equipment but is there all the time for the past week

Which hub do you have?
Have you got the hub in a well ventilated area?
In your opinion does the hub potentially pose a hazard?

If it is really getting that hot, would it not be sensible to unplug it and contact Sky for a replacement to be sent out, describing the symptoms of what's happening?
