@Loobylue do you mean VPN? If so those do not provide any parental controls by default which is what Sky''s Broadband Shield is primarily for. Neither fulfill the role of a decent internet security suite. VPNs have their uses especially if using public WiFi networks or where you want to spoof presence in a different country but they are not a magic solution to all internet issues.
