My contract is ending in 4 days and I already signed up with a new provider

My contract is ending in 4 days, and I already signed up with a new provider but the service will be installed after a week from the date when the contract with sky ends. I want to ask if the contract renews automatically or I have to let them know that I don't want to renew. I also read the new provider will contact them but this option is available if you have a contract in place already. I want to know if I don't cancel the sky contract than I still get the 14 days cool off period or should I ask for another month without having to sign for a long lenght contract (if that's possible)? If you don't do anything then you will go onto a rolling monthly contract allowing for your new isp to contact sky and do the switch with minimal loss of service
