My activation date was a week ago, I still do not have my router

My activation date was meant to be a week ago, but my router has still not been dispatched. Sky are not helping at all and just keep saying there is an openreach issue and they'll get back to me. I have four different texts saying there is an issue and they'll get back to me by 'x' date, then on that date to text me the exact same message again but with a new date to get back to me.

 

What is actually going on? Why is sky not giving any information? And is it quicker for me to just change to a different provider seeing as its been a month since I signed up and I still have neither the router nor internet obviously. I am spending loads on extra data for my phone so it would probably be cheaper to give up on sky

Your Sky hub not being sent wouldn't stop the activation as that is a different issue which appears to be being held up by Openreach for some reason.

 

If you sign up to another ISP that also uses the Openreach network then the same issue whatever it is could still be present.
