My Sky Max Hub isn’t connecting to my extender sockets

Hello,

I have 2 WiFi extender sockets in my house as most of my WiFi usage is on the front of the house but every now and again my WiFi Extender Sockets just drop off the network.

The hub is in the centre of the house, where it was before with previous provider and I didn't have any issues before with it dropping off the WiFi signal.

Could someone let me know what I might be doing wrong??

@Rob+Webber depending on exacrly what the "extender sockets"are they could not be compatable with the Sky Max hub which requires the matched extender pods from Sky. If you have those check they are installed in an area with good wifi connection to the hub so typically should be placed roughly half way between the hub and the area with poor wifi.

I really hope this isn't the case as they are wired into my wall and if they arent compatible then I assume Sky will provide their comparable ones for free? Not that you will know not being and employee. I will give them a call tomorrow and find out

Re: My Sky Max Hub isn’t connecting to my extender sockets

I've got 2 bg wifi sockets that runs on  2.4ghz the Sky max hub and 2.4ghz and 5 ghz that are switched on together you can shut the 5ghz off on the sky app under product settings hub then advanced settings then disable WiFi my sockets won't even work with the 5ghz shut off because when the hub was made and they put all the data into the hubs they gave both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz the same ssid names so certain products cannot tell one frequency from the other and I'm thinking changing the names can only be done by the makers

@Rob+Webber

Those WiFi extender sockets can be pretty poor I've seen some bad reviews of them. If they are the only things dropping off your WiFi then you would have to point the blame at them.

As for Sky offering comparable ones free, this wont happen, they are 3rd party devices you chose to buy therefore Sky has no responsibility to ensure they work with their own routers.
