My IP address is located outside of UK (says National Lottery).

The National Lottery says 'it looks like I'm outside of the UK', blocking my participation in the draw, (see below).

Can anyone advise how I get Sky to update the registration of my IP address to validate my UK location please?

Best way to solve this is unplug your router for an hour. This will give you a new public IP

Re: My IP address is located outside of UK (says National Lottery).

Check your IP and its location using a public service like:

https://whatismyipaddress.com/

This will give you your IP address, ISP and location of the ISP connection.

If you are using a VPN turn it off or direct it to connect to a uk server.

If you are using a phone check that its wifi is turned on and connected to your sky router.

Are you near a border or the sea? Phones using mobile data will often connect to a stronger mobile signal over a border or offshore networks.

Re: My IP address is located outside of UK (says National Lottery).

In some cases, Sky may be reallocating IP address blocks, and the geolocation databases have not yet caught up with these changes, leading to incorrect location readings.
Additionally, resetting your router or disconnecting the hub for a period can sometimes result in a new IP address, but it may still fall within the same UK-registered range, maintaining the incorrect geolocation.
This problem has been reported by users in Ireland who have experienced their Sky broadband connection being identified as UK-based, affecting services like streaming platforms and search results.
