Hi I'm due to move house next week and I only have sky broadband. Is it a case of just plug it in and it will work. Or do I need an engineer?

Where does it say that. If you are moving then an engineer does need to visit . If theres already a mastersocket in the new house they will just need to activate you at the local cabinet. Call sky as above

Broadband subscriptions do not follow an ISP router around the national Openreach telecommunication network: an individual phone line (or optical cable) at a particular address is provisioned for a user account. The ISP pays Openreach to do this, but that means the work is carried out to an Openreach timescale based on availability of their personnel. In addition, subscription moves are increasingly being used as part of the switch to full fibre (FTTP) installation, which requires one or more installer visits the first time an address is connected.

Hi, I moved last week and I was asked the same to plug in the device but now I go the message that an engineer visit is required with no further information of date and time. I have no idea who to contact as there is no phone number or email id to contact

If you already have a Sky Mobile or from your Sky Talk landline call free by just dialling 150, otherwise use this link:
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides an 0333 number. A lot of mobile networks include 01, 02 and 03 numbers in their inclusive minutes.
ROI: change the flag in the very bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides an 0818 number.
(The forum filters don’t like us typing the digits in full).
Like a lot of large companies nowadays any calls to Sky will start off automated but stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Also be aware the operating times of departments differs depending on the issue you’re ringing about.

Their is a hole in the wall inside the property that the builder says the provider will sort.

Where do I stand, who should sort this part out?
