Hi,
I've been having an issue for the past 3 months with being unable to purchase anything through my Meta account (VR). After lots of back and forth they responded today with:
"Upon reviewing your account, our system predicted that the country of origin was Iran. However, we noticed that the purchases made on this account were in pound currency, which suggests a different country of origin. This mismatch between the predicted country and the currency used for purchases has raised some concerns."
I live in the UK and I've sent them details of my current allocated Sky Broadband router address (and router WAN config address allocation), and a 'what is my IP' query clearly shows south of England. A RIPE/WHOIS query shows the IP address as registered to SKY Broadband UK, I've sent this to them also.
Has anybody else encountered this issue? I wonder if it is anything to do with the SKY address block leasings and registrations - clearly data being sent to Meta geo- predictive address services is incorrect. Googling the issue of being unable to make a purchase through a Meta account shows lots of people are also having the same issue - some going back a few years.
Any help appreciated,
Mike
