Mercusys Halo Mesh and Sky

Hi

I am in ROI and have sky tv and broadband. The broadband has been awful in the last while and will not let devices like a phone when upstairs connect to it. (We have an average sized house!) someone suggested getting a mesh and the Mercusys Halo was recommended. But it seems to be only working intermittently and I read online that you cannot use a mesh with a sky router/modem. Any advice welcomed. Thanks.

There's no problem with a mesh: what is typically problematic is replacing a Sky Hub with a mesh node acting as router.

Q television Mini boxes don't talk over WiFi to mesh nodes though.

Thanks. So I should be able to set it up as per instructions and it should all work ok?

@Shazerina

I don't know what those particular instructions are.  Typically you'd want the mesh nodes acting as wireless access points, and switch off the Sky WiFi on the Hub unless you have A television.

@Shazerina in simple terms turn off the Sky hub's wifi uless you have a Sky Q system with Q mini boxes which require a Sky wifi signal unless thry are connected by ethernet. If you have Q minis things get a bit more complex.

I dont have Sky Q so my Sky hub has its wifi disabled and I use a Deco M4 system in Access point mode for whole home wifi.
