Low and variable line speed after 900Mb fibre optic install
So we had fibre optic installed a few days ago promising minimum downlaod speeds of 600Mb. Since then our line speed has actually decreased since copper broadband. The highest recorded speed was 250Mb but it can drop down to 30Mb and is very unstable over wireless. I have tried 3 different routers (2 by SKY) to no avail. The SKY test shows 630Mb to the property (is this gathered from the ONT box or from the router itself?). SKY have suggested changing the ethernet cable may help, but I doubt this would make much difference? I am not an engineer but the ONT box seems quite wobbly to me and is, I think, positioned far too close to a radiator. Does this sound like an internal wiring problem or is there something else I could try to fix this?

Re: Low and variable line speed after 900Mb fibre optic install
Unfortunately I don't have a solution but what I can say is I'm struggling with the exact same issue.
I had 300mb fibre with Sky that was completely stable, even over WiFi, but that was with an old black Sky router. Then, when I upgraded to 900mb (and the new white Sky Max hub) I've been getting unstable speed readings since. Anywhere between 23mb and 912mb with about 400 being the average. I was hoping that, after Sky sent out Openreach who confirmed all was well in the street, that maybe it was the router internally but based on your experience, that might not be the case.
