Locked out of WiFi

So my son played Fortnite this evening with Ethernet cable from router to ps4. 30mins or so later we noticed devices were falling off the WiFi and then couldn't log back into the WiFi (ie we were locked out). 
Tried contacting sky but they were closed. 
clearly v concerning. Power to router is off and Ethernet cable disconnected. 
could someone have hacked into the WiFi via fortnite/ethernet cable / into router and then locked us out?

@Batbatbatbatbat sounds like your son may have changed the wifi password as a prank. It is quite easy to do especially if connected by Ethernet . You can easily reset your hub back to its default settings by pressing and hokding in the reset pin until the power led flashes and then releasing it.

 

To avoid a repeat you may want to change the hub's admin password which is a bit fiddly but not difficult see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/find-and-change-your-wireless-password

Thanks. My son was sat next to me at the time and did not change the password (he wouldn't know how to and would be self defeating as we turned the WiFi off).

@Batbatbatbatbat then no idea how the hub was blocking connection as this would be a very obscure fault but the reset advice should restore it. If it doesnt call Sky to get the unit swapped out.

The other possiblity is that your external IP address was being subjected to a DDOS attack, which some gamers find amusing: this isn't a 'hack', requires no skill and doesn't have any security implications, but can disrupt router functionality.
