My daughter has been a new tenant for 6 weeks. She ordered Sky. Turns out previous tenants have not paid their Sky account and the line (although active) is now blocked by Sky and OpenReach.
She can proved her tenancy and dates but nobody can clear the line for them. As a tenant they cannot have the property drilled etc for a second line. This has been escalated on numerous occasions and is in a 48 loop of going from Sky to OpenReach - no resolution - and back as an escalation. Why, with proof of tenancy can nobody authorise the release of the line to them at the property? The cost to all parties must now exceed any debt. NOBODY is sorting, she works from home and the stress is off the scale. Other proividers are not available in the area. Cannot speak to anyone with authority to sort this.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreYour daughter will only be able to contact Sky, not Openreach. As customers we can't say for definite why Sky can't release the line. What has her landlord said about this if anything? Unfortunately working from home will have no bearing on this or any future repairs etc.
