Hello,
I am currently on a 18 month contract with Sky full fibre broadband which started on Saturday 25th November 2023 and ends on Sunday 25th May 2025 and I am moving to a new provider.
The activation date on the new provider is Tuesday 27th May 2025.
So between Sunday 25th May 2025 and Tuesday 27th May 2025 will Sky broadband still be active and internet working until the switch is complete and what will the final bill with Sky look like?
Do I need to contact Sky about this or will my new provider let you know regarding activation, cancellation services dates?
I believe I need to return Sky equipment. When and how do I need to do this by?
Also I got an email from Sky saying that they have extended my offers for another 12 months until 25th May 2026 and my Sky offers have been added automatically and there's no new contract.
I want to check that there will be no early termination charges/penalties for leaving ahead of time as the original contract ends Sunday 25th May 2025?
Thank you.

Then as I said above, your broadband from Sky will continue and on the 27th your new provider's service should be activated and that will be the end of your Sky service on the same day.

Re: Leaving Sky Broadband and moving to new provider queries
What happens depends on how you have signed up to your new provider so
Have you signed up via the switch service because if you Sky will remain active then it will change over to your new provider.
Or have you given Sky 14 days notice to cancel with them, if you have and you finish on the 25th May and your new provider doesn't start until the 27th May then you will be without any service for 2 days.
For the equipment return Sky usually sends packaging out near the end of the cancellation notice period of 14 days for Broadband/Talk so if you haven't received it then you can use whatever boxes you have or can get as this link will help you to print the return label and return it via Royal Mail:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/return-tv-broadband
Add a note inside with your account number and a list of equipment you have included.
Make sure you get and keep proof of posting when sending this off.
There should be no penalty charges if you are not within the minimum term of a contract but billing does continue right up to when you leave so you might find that you are billed after you have left, if and when this happens you should then see a credit on your account so when you see this post back on here as we can arrange some help for you via here to get the credit refunded.

Re: Leaving Sky Broadband and moving to new provider queries
Hi @caesarome
Thank you for your reply.
I have signed up via the switch service and will switch to the new provider on 27th May 2025.
I have not contacted Sky about changing provider but have received emails and texts from Sky about me leaving and them being informed by my new provider I am switching.
Sky said this will take place on 27 May 2025 and will cancel my services on the same day my new provider activates my new services.
My new provider said my current service (Sky) should continue until order is completed and once it is active, my old service (Sky) should cancel automatically.
