Known Issue - Sky Fiber Max Hub and TP-Link Powerline Ethernet over Power adapators?

Sky customer for 13+ years. Upgraded to Full Fiber in October. 9+ weeks later I've had issues from day one. Only the room with the router and directly above the router have sufficient connectivity. No engineer visit been able to be booked as Sky are suggesting there's a 3rd party chinese (99.9% of the smart home market) device blocking ports for Sky to get diagnostics and therefore engineer visit not possible.
Only get one Pod as standard and this also keeps dropping out.

Wifi connectivity erratic, speeds, erratic - I've never known a service so poor from Sky and 9 weeks in I only have TV (all sky pucks and sky glass) connectivity in the room where the router comes in and room directly above.
Clearly known issues with connectivity and conflicting ports with this router and smart home devices.
Upgraded to a complete shambles - my 15 year old BT router has better reach than the new white fiber router, absolutely bonkers and sky not able to get an engineer out to fix.
Anyone else experiened the known issue with Powerline adaptors?

The only 'known issue' I'm aware of is between Powerline and G.fast broadband, not FTTP.

To be clear, are you referring to Powerline adapters or a Powerline to WiFi extender?

Hi, yes PowerLine Ethernet over Power Adaptors (TP-Link) and not the wifi extender although the adaptors do have a wifi hotspot built in to them. TBH I've had a few 'it could be's' and there are known conflict issues that they know are blocking ports to get diagnostics which stops an engineer being booked. Feels like they've got connectivity reach issues with the white broadband and also conflict issues with 3rd party devices and their own legacy booster kit, ineterfering with the Pod + white router connectivity within the home and outbound to sky for diagnostics.

That's certainly raised in multiple posts in this forum, although it's difficult to guess the scale of the issue when we've no information on how many Max Hubs Sky has shipped.

We know Max doesn't support the legacy 'Q mesh'.

Thanks for confirming all of the above. I'll report back the outcome. The customer service process to resolve the issue falling down after every call doesn't help either. It's obvioulsy a more secure unit as well as far as new WPS/encryption standards which is also go-to scape goat every time but will also be relevant when it's relevant as far as negotiating encryption with smart device's and TV's...but they need to be able to connect before they can negotiate 😉

Thanks again, will confirm what the conflict was to get diag's hopefully help some else with the roadblock.... feels impossible with Sky atm..

I have the same problem.  I have an AV1000 TP-link powerline and I only get two LEDs instead of three ie it's on, it sees the other powerline but no internet.

Re: Known Issue - Sky Fiber Max Hub and TP-Link Powerline Ethernet over Power adapators?

EDIT: After messing about.  The powerlines MUST be connected to the plug socket and no extension leads OR you can have only one on an extension lead and the other in a wall plug socket.  Then you'll get connectivity.

As per TP-link instructions and guidelines, they don't perform well in extension leads even though that they have worked before on other routers.  So yea what I did was plugged them side by side on an extension lead to make sure that I get the three LEDs, then plugged them at the PC end on an extension lead and I didn't get internet.  I did notice that I had a wall socket free so plugged it into that instead and got all three LEDs up.

But like others, I could plug these on an extension lead hanging off a plusnet high speed DSL broadband router (not a fibre router) and that worked fine.  I even did the same off a Highnet Draytek router and had no issues.  So best practice is probably just to keep these powerlines fitted to a wall socket and no extension leads at all.

@DawnParn I have used powerline adapters for many years. To clarify further any powerline adapter should used with wall sockets not trailing adapters to maximise speed because simply the more connections the greater the loss of speed and more likely that communication will be lost. Trailing adapters with surge protecters block the data signal so can never be used. Many adapters come with a pass through mains socket so you do not lose the use of that socket.. Plan to get between 20 to 30% of the rated speed which most set ups can deliver

Sky do not recommend use of powerline adapters as their performance varies greatly due to the type and condition of mains wiring in different homes. There is no reported issue between the new Sky Max hub and powerline adapters  as you orginally posted. Currently I use a pair of adapters on my own network connected to my Sky Max hub.
